   In the current era of Internet development, many people are asking what TPE is, what material is TPE, what is TPE used for, where is TPE used, and what is the difference between TPE and TPR, and some people even think it is rubber or conventional plastic; In fact, TPE is already an indispensable part of our daily necessities. Then there is a small editor below to introduce to you:
   Thermoplastic elastomer (English ThermoPlasticElastomer, abbreviated as TPE), also known as thermoplastic rubber (English ThermoPlasticRubber, abbreviated as TPR), has both the mechanical elasticity of traditional rubber and the processability of thermoplastics. The scope of TPE includes: SBS, SEBS, SIS, SEPS, TPO, TPV, TPU, TPVC, TPEE, TPA, etc. Generally speaking, TPE in the market mainly refers to SBS and SEBS styrene elastomers. TPE is environmentally friendly, non-toxic and safe, has a wide range of hardness, excellent colorability, soft touch, weather resistance, fatigue resistance and temperature resistance, superior processing performance, no need for vulcanization, and can be recycled to reduce costs. It can be two-shot injection molding. , It can be coated and bonded with PP, PE, PC, PS, ABS and other base materials, and it can also be molded separately;
   Advantages of TPE
   1. It can be processed by a general thermoplastic molding machine without special processing equipment.
  2. The production efficiency is greatly improved. It can be vulcanized directly with a rubber injection molding machine, and the time is shortened from about 20 minutes to less than 1 minute; because the vulcanization time required is very short, it can be directly vulcanized with an extruder, which greatly improves the production efficiency.
   3. Easy to recycle and reduce costs. The waste produced in the production process (escape burrs, extrusion of waste rubber) and the final waste can be directly returned for reuse; the used TPE can be recycled after simple regeneration, reducing environmental pollution and expanding the source of renewable resources.
   4. Energy saving. Most thermoplastic elastomers do not require vulcanization or have a short vulcanization time, which can effectively save energy. Take the energy consumption of high-pressure hose production as an example: rubber is 188MJ/kg and TPE is 144MJ/kg, which can save energy by more than 25%.
   5. The application field is wider. Because TPE has the advantages of both rubber and plastic, it has opened up new application areas for the rubber industry.
   The above is all about what material TPE is. If you want to know more about TPE/TPR material consulting information, you can follow our official website of Dongguan Mier Plastic Materials Co., Ltd.!
